Such are the Autumn People

The name's Stefan Gregori. I'm a witch and a spook, the good old Halloween variety. Fresh out of the carnival scene, but the carnival isn't quite out of me yet. These days I work for April Rigby at the Rigby Family Apothecary.

I'm not wicked, in case you're wondering.

Alonzo Gregori | 57 | Stefan’s father

Alonzo is a second-generation Italian with a dry sense of humour and a penchant for swearing at bad cooking.  A chef himself at a five-star restaurant downtown New Orleans, he brings his work home with him and always makes sure his family has good meals.

Alonzo isn’t of magical blood, but he loves his wife and his family and supports them in all of their pursuits, attempting to offer advice even when he’s not 100% sure what he’s talking about.

Helena Gregori, nee Martino | 54 | Stefan’s mother

Helena hails from eastern European magical blood, and carries the aesthetic, traditions, and grace with her.  Stefan got his bent toward the charm of the “old country” from her as well as his warm nature, as Helena is all about being open and respectful of others.  She has her moments of downright sass, but overall she’s an absolute sweetheart.

She works as a medium, cleansing houses and helping people contact their lost loved ones.

David Gregori | 28 | Older brother

David takes after his father for the most part, in lack of magic as well as sarcastic nature.  A bit of a cynic—but what writer isn’t—and a smartass, but he means well.  He enjoys studying politics and keeps a sharp eye on his favourite soccer teams, and lives alone in a small house with his dog, Luigi.

Lino Gregori | 22 | Younger brother

Lino is the family artist, a budding photographer with a tendency to stay in darkroom for hours on end without speaking a single word.  His quiet nature is sometimes mistaken for standoffish and rude, but in all reality he is fiercely loyal to his friends and family and will speak up quite vehemently to defend them if needs be. He and his girlfriend Corey currently live together in an apartment downtown.

Unlike his eldest brother, Lino expresses some tendencies towards magic and is known to dabble in it on occasion, but prefers studying his cameras and computers.

Nadia Gregori | 17 | Younger sister

Nadia was a surprise to the whole family.  After the brothers Helena and Alonzo didn’t plan on having any more children, but when Nadia came along they welcomed her with open arms.  The only girl in the family, she’s been taught by her brothers how to stand up for herself in school and she has a lot of friends there.  She’s involved in several extracurricular clubs and has a vibrant teenage social life, always having friends over to the house for sleepovers.

She currently works at one of the many shoe stores in the city mall, and Helena is training her to use magic.  She finds it to be a lot of fun and hopes that she can someday use her power to help others.

Danny Martino | 47 | Uncle

Hailing from Helena’s side of the family, Uncle Danny is an absolute riot.  His job as a high school drama instructor keeps him animated and lively, as does his passionate love of music (whenever there’s a family gathering, he tends to bring his guitar and provide entertainment).  He and his wife Roxanne live with their two cats, Quixote and Lancelot, in a suburban cul-de-sac and like to tease the teenagers who return to their homes late at night by casting spells at them.

Roxanne “Rocky” Martino, nee Roberts | 46 | Aunt

Nurse Rocky moved to Louisiana from Florida ten years ago and met Danny at a karaoke bar during Mardi Gras.  While most festival hookups invariably fizzle out, Danny and Rocky hit it off and continued seeing each other for three years before finally getting married.  It was on their honeymoon when Rocky confessed to being a witch, and then Danny confessing his own magical habits as well (talk about luck).

They’ve been together ever since and there has never been a more lovable pair of troublemakers.  She and Stefan get on famously.

Sofia Lennon, nee Gregori | 53 | Aunt

Sofia is the most level-headed and refined of the three Gregori siblings.  A librarian, she tends to have a soft voice when she speaks—but it’s always best to listen to her as she tends to have the surest handle on a situation.

She comes across as cold sometimes, but she is aware of her “chronic bitchface” and makes an effort to be more relatable.  Her husband Marx, of course, is lovingly helping her out with that.

Marx Lennon | 51 | Uncle

“Uncle Marxism/Marxist/Dirty Rotten Commie” is a stand-up comic with a horribly unfortunate name but a bubbly sense of humour to balance it out.  He’s always ready with a funny story (complete with voices and impressions) or a joke to tell…even though sometimes he tends to favour the really stupid jokes when not on stage, if only to infuriate his listeners.

His wife Sofia and he are polar opposites, but are completely happy with each other living in Georgia and have 2 kids (Alexander and Paula).

Giuseppe Gregori | 60 | Uncle

Papa Giuseppe is class incarnate.  A successful accountant, he is well-off and not averse to enjoying the finer things in life.  He’s careful not to flaunt his wealth too much, however, because ostentation isn’t his gig at all.  He is a very talented pianist, and gets along well with Uncle Danny because of it.

He enjoys fine wine and golf and his nieces and nephews, who have taken to calling him Papa instead of Uncle in place of having a living grandfather.
